Shreveport Times Reviews School Board Travel Policy as “Less than bold…”


“… little progress this week toward more closely examining how it expends public dollars.”

“It was a vote saying we do not trust our staff to limit their travel during a time of economic crises,” District 4 board member Charlotte Crawley says.

But the board’s action Tuesday falls short of what originally was intended and, because of its loopholes, only further muddles a process that instead should be made all the more transparent with the school district battling a $15 million-a-year spending problem.
