Voters can only make more informed choices when mayoral candidates are required to address issues related to how these candidates are qualified to serve and the platforms related to serving as the next mayor. Two recent forums allowed candidates to address issues and all were invited to participate. Here is a recording of each that I hope gives insight into those who were prepared to discuss the issues.
I found it unfortunate that major candidates chose to not participate in all forums, as these are the best opportunity to communicate transparently with citizens. Patrick Williams skipped both the October 21 and Oct 23 forums. Williams can be seen in the Oct 21 forum coming ito the hall at the end and immediately leaving without comment. Ollie Tyler chose to skip the October 23rd forum. Jim Crowley sat in the audience but failed to participate in either forum.
