After more than sixty years, the Confederate flag will be lowered from the memorial at the Caddo Parish Courthouse Square. Only through shear force of will and right of law did the members of the Caddo Parish Commission finally make the motion and pass on lowering and removing the flag and flag pole from the Confederate Memorial.
The flag issues are fully discussed on www.CaddoForward.com. We believe the decision of the Caddo Commission is consistent the expectation of citizens to enter the courts of the State without the shadow of the lynchings that were well-documented on the square as late as the the 1920’s.
