Thanks to Ken Kreftt and the Broadmoor Neighborhood Association for hosting the Judicial Forum, moderated by FatNet’s Lou Burnett. Burnett had some general questions, written by area attorneys and private citizens that would help educate voters on issues that candidates should be comfortable discussing without violating judicial guidelines. The election to fill the vacancy on the Caddo bench created by the election of Judge Jeannette Garrett to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals is October 19. Caddo Assistant D.A. Brady O’ Callaghan and Bossier Indigent Defender, but Shreveport native, Attorney Mike Miller appeared and the content of the forum is presented here to assist voters in determining the qualification of the candidates. The Forum allowed a good exchange of ideas and attendees were rewarded with two well-qualified legal scholars. Now the decision will rest on the responsible voters who take the effort to go to the polls before they close October 19th.
Mr. Woody Wilson, Caddo Parish Administrator, also spoke concerning the upcoming $23 million bond issue on the ballot at the same election. Additional information about the association is available at http://broadmoornashreveport.com/ No comments will be accepted on this post or video.
