money_launderingWire Fraud, Money Laundering, Bribery, filing false tax returns and conspiracy charges related to governmental corruption by one of New Orleans most colorful public officials were forecast in the last season of popular TV series Treme on HBO. The “cringe-inducing rhetoric” of the former New Orleans Mayor may have foretold the 21-nail-coffin plan that may place Nagin in a box of which there is little room to wiggle.

Coffin nails...
21 Coffin nails???

Two former city officials and two businessmen have already had their cases resolved with guilty pleas than all included testimony that may shadow Nagin throughout his trial. No doubt Nagin will require great legal counsel for years to come in an effort to stave off the federal attorneys who are after his incarceration for the rest of his life.

Nagin and his circle may have pocketed well over a billion dollars intended for the rebuilding and preservation of New Orleans and all of south Louisiana. Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has been indicted on 21 corruption charges including wire fraud, bribery and money laundering.

The charges announced Friday come from a City Hall corruption investigation that already has resulted in guilty pleas by two former city officials and two businessmen.Ray Nagin

The next season of Treme may be closer to reality TV than fiction!
